The system4
What is Volt BP?

Volt BP pairs the Twin Power pitching machine with the Volt Bat into one complete batting practice system that trains, collects data and analyzes every swing. The machine throws; the bat shows you what your swing did.

Do I need a phone?

Only if you want one. Volt Bat shows its numbers on the round display in its own knob, and it also connects to the phone app, which shows the same swings on your phone. Twin Power doesn't connect to a phone at all: it's set from the dials on its control panel.

What balls does it use?

Golf-ball-sized wiffle balls. Volt Bat is a practice bat built for them. Keep them clean and dry: worn or wet balls are hard on any pitching machine.

Can I buy the machine and the bat separately?

Yes. Volt Twin Power and Volt Bat are each sold on their own, and Volt BP is the two together.

Volt Bat3
What does Volt Bat measure?

Bat speed, attack angle at contact, and time to contact, shown on three rings in the knob. It also reads the jolt at contact, or tells you there was none, and keeps your swing count and best speed for the session.

Is it a sensor I clip onto my own bat?

No. The electronics are built into the knob of the Volt practice bat: one bat, one fixed setup, nothing to move from bat to bat.

What do the rings and the gold mean?

The outer ring is bat speed, the middle is attack angle and the inner is time to contact. Each ring carries a band for your own recent swings, or for the coach's target window on attack angle. A ring turns gold when you beat your own average or land inside the window.

Volt Twin Power6
Why is it called Twin Power?

Two 15,000 rpm brushless motors, one driving each wheel. Brushless motors have no brushes to wear down, and inside the sealed drum digital sensors and an ARM processor run every pitch from the panel's dials.

What do the sensors do?

A Hall sensor tracks the rotating ball dropper and drives the LED countdown ring, so you can see the next pitch coming. IR sensors at the tunnel catch every ball that drops and add it to the ball counter.

What pitches does Twin Power throw?

The PITCH dial has three settings: FST, LHC and RHC, a fastball and two curves. Changing PITCH starts a 15-second countdown before the next ball.

How fast does it throw?

We'll publish measured speeds once production machines are tested, and we won't quote a number before then. The SPEED dial sets it.

How do I run a session?

Mount it on a sturdy tripod aimed at home plate, load balls into the hopper and press PWR. Choose SPEED and PITCH, then set INTERVAL and SETS (10, 20 or continuous). RESET restarts the set; press PWR to stop.

Is it safe?

Blinking red LEDs mean the machine is pitching live balls. Keep hands and face clear of the wheels and the outlet, and only the batter stands in front of it. Power off before loading, adjusting or servicing. Children must be supervised by an adult, and everyone should wear eye protection while it runs.
